Welcome!
Having been an avid animal lover and keen equestrian all my life, I have been inspired to paint from a young age, and largely self taught 'Captured on Canvas' was born and I began accepting commissions in 1996 to paint both horses and hounds.
Greatly inspired by Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage my work has now expanded to include original equestrian art, sold as both printsand originals encompassing the ever popular world of equestrian sport.
Working in timeless oils on canvas, both my portraits and original pieces are produced with the greatest attention to detail, capturing the character and core essence of the subject.
Having qualified in photography in 1998 I have also found this skill ever useful as painting from life is rarely possible with many of my commissions being undertaken from all over the country and sometimes even abroad. I also prefer to paint my original pieces from my own extensive library of photographs taken from events and races across the country. Based on the south coast of England I live with my partner Nial and three lively dogs Meg, Pip and Lily.
